Novena · Day 7 of 9
Santa Muerte novena: day 7
This is the seventh day of the Santa Muerte novena, dedicated to work and livelihood. On the seventh day people pray for their job, their business and the bread on their table. The request comes with a commitment to do our part: abundance is asked for with willing hands, not with folded arms.
Order for day 7
- Light your candle and keep a moment of silence.
- Say the opening prayer.
- Read the prayer for day 7.
- Make your personal request in silence.
- If it is your custom, pray three Our Fathers.
- Finish with the closing prayer.
1. Opening prayer
Most Holy Death, White Girl, here I am before you.
I light this candle as a sign that I come with an open heart.
I bring you nothing but what I am: my weariness, my doubts and my faith.
You who make no difference between the rich and the poor,
you who wait for everyone with the same patience,
receive me during these nine days of prayer.
May every night I spend before you leave me a little more at peace.
So be it.
Santa Muerte novena, day 7: work and livelihood
2. Prayer for the seventh day
White Girl, today I ask you for my work and for the livelihood of my home.
Open doors where today I only see walls.
Bless the effort of my hands and my ideas,
and may what I earn be earned honestly.
May there never be a lack of bread on my table,
nor the generosity to share it with those who have none.
3. Your request
Say in your own words what you want to ask for or give thanks for. You don't need to say it out loud.
4. Closing prayer
Most Holy Death, thank you for listening to me one more night.
I leave in your hands what I have asked of you, knowing that your time is not mine.
Watch over those I love, those who are far away and those who have already passed.
When my hour comes, may you find me at peace and with nothing left unsettled.
Until tomorrow, my Lady.
So be it.
