Novena · Day 8 of 9
Santa Muerte novena: day 8
This is the eighth day of the Santa Muerte novena, dedicated to home and family. Santa Muerte is often found on home altars, next to family photos. On the eighth day people pray for the living who share their roof and for those who are already gone, who are still part of the family.
Order for day 8

1. Opening prayer
Most Holy Death, White Girl, here I am before you.
I light this candle as a sign that I come with an open heart.
I bring you nothing but what I am: my weariness, my doubts and my faith.
You who make no difference between the rich and the poor,
you who wait for everyone with the same patience,
receive me during these nine days of prayer.
May every night I spend before you leave me a little more at peace.
So be it.

2. Prayer for the eighth day
Most Holy Death, I entrust my home to you.
May there be peace, respect and kind words in my house.
Mend what is broken between us and heal the old quarrels.
I also pray for my departed: [names].
May they rest in peace and know that we have not forgotten them.
Watch over those who remain and those who have already passed.
3. Your request
Say in your own words what you want to ask for or give thanks for. You don't need to say it out loud.
4. Closing prayer
Most Holy Death, thank you for listening to me one more night.
I leave in your hands what I have asked of you, knowing that your time is not mine.
Watch over those I love, those who are far away and those who have already passed.
When my hour comes, may you find me at peace and with nothing left unsettled.
Until tomorrow, my Lady.
So be it.
